The shade-bodied entity stalked the grey figure that it had been tracking for the past several kilometres. The figure now was resting in the midway branches of a gnarled tree. "Prey sees threat", the beast thought as the shadows around it seemed to bend and warp, concealing it in a cocoon of deep darkness to blend with the fading light. It inched nearer the tree and gazed upward. "Prey has metal biter", it thought as it saw a lighter shade of grey in the figures hands. It snaked a section of the darkness around the back of the tree, sliding up the trunk with fluidity. The tendril melded the sword into the darkness, effectively disarming the figure, who in response let out a fearful cry. The beast leapt up into the tree, tackled the figure, and landed on them with the satisfying bone cracking that the beast adored. The beast howled to indicate it had killed prey, and began to feast.

I have no f***ing clue, and a golem or orc type thing

A young girl of about 12 with pale skin and dark hair had been roaming through the forest after dark when she aught not to be. Not too far from a small, out of place village where her elder sister had lived did the forest lie, and she had never strayed past the entrance before. Her sister, however, had gone missing leaving for city one day prior for supplies they could not retrieve in the village and the little girl, home alone with no one to stop her, had seen it as her duty to bring her missing sister back. She wandered quietly after dark in hopes to sneak past the guard of the village who wouldn't let a child leave by themselves into the dangerous wood, and after doing so made her way through the forest deeper and deeper with only a little red shawl, a backpack carrying bread and rope, and a lantern for protection.

As the beast polished off its meal, the night grew full, consuming the world in darkness. The beast rose its scaled head and peered around, able to now see its surroundings in varying shades of blue and red, in addition to the shades of grey it was limited to during times of light. It plodded off into the night, heading back from whence it came. As it was picking its way through foliage, it smelled something that it did not recognize, but was familiar. The scent of a non-shade beast.

The little elf girl paused, took another breath looking at about her at the foreboding trees and took a step forward, one foot after the other holding her lantern to the sky though not looking directly in front of her, distracted by the shadows of the night in between the trees giving her a chill. A flurry of wind forced her to raise her hood up over her head to protect her from the cold and ominous breeze. She trudged, further and further, walking slowly feeling an uncomforting aura about her.

The shade beast felt a presence trespass in his cloak of darkness. It gazed in the direction of where it had come from, the darkness from the area giving it the vision of a blue smudge on a deep grey background of the foliage. Its tongue flicked out, tasting the air for any signs of the intent of the non-shade. The new presence was not of any malicious intent, however it did register as easy prey.The shade beast knew that it did not need any more sustenance, so would not be likely to feed on it, but at the very least would like to play around with it. It strode over to the blue smudge that the darkness had highlighted as it melted into the darkness around it and watched as a pointy-eared figure walked past, looking nervous. "Not home point-ear beast," it thought.

The girl paused feeling and unsettling presence to the right of her... she flashed her lantern quickly to the right only to see the trees and pitch forest beyond them. She took another deep breath. "Was that a voice?" she wondered taking a slight step back and stumbling over a dip she hadn't noticed on the leafy forest floor. "I-is someone there?" she quietly spoke in a whisper as though not actually intending to be heard by whatever she might have seen in the distance. She cleared her throat... "It's nothing", she assured herself unable to pull her gaze from the oddly darkened portion of the forest. She adjusted her hood and tightened her cape as the she stared. Something just seemed off. She couldn't possibly pin point what, but the darkness about her didn't feel as normal as it might have any other night. Suddenly she felt a chill go up her spine as she concluded that it felt much more... alive.

The beast took several steps out from the forest and onto the trail that the blueness walked on and stood behind it. The shade tilted its head towards the figure in front of it, inspecting its angles and judging its size better. The smudge became clearer now that the beast had focused on it, and the figure became a blue elfen girl, no more than still a child. The six tendrils on the beasts head trickled down off of the back of its head and began to slowly glide towards the child as the beast let out a breath.

The girl froze suddenly at the feeling and sound of breath just behind her. She felt her body begin to lock up. She looked down slowly feeling her heart drop as she witnessed six red-tipped tentacle-like extensions surrounding her... something was behind her... She couldn't move. She could barely breathe. She had read about wolves and different creatures in the forest that harm little elf children in folk tales and bedtime stories... but the idea of encountering something so terrifying had only once passed through her mind on the journey... She didn't give it another thought or really plan what she could do in this particular situation. She was now unprepared for what would happen next, her body in shock at her realization that this could be her sudden end.

The tentacles hovered around the elf child's arms, legs, and torso, mapping out her physical structure due to the limitations of the beasts eyes. The shade could practically feel the fear hum off of her small body. The tentacles retracted back to their semi-rigid position behind the beasts head. It lifted its taloned left foreleg to swipe at the child and slice them down, but a shout from off to the left took the beast by surprise and it jumped back away from the child, faced the direction of the shout, and roared deeply. "Not seen threat, shriek loud," it thought, on edge as it was unable to detect the entity that caused the shout even though it was within the darkness' range.

The little girl stood, still frozen in her tracks as whatever it was had finally returned the tentacle-like appendages away from her. The dark entity was still close behind her, she dared not make a sound or make another move. Her breath held and heart thumping loudly against her chest, she remained, as quiet as a mouse until she was sure the danger had subsided... she could hear a claw or foot being lifted... something in the darkness seeming as though it were going to attack, but she remained tension building until finally the loud shout. She could hear, far in the distance, her savior? Who was it? "Or... what?" she questioned internally, turning her head ever so slightly behind her hoping whatever it was didn't realize this to see if she could find out what was causing the noise. The beast behind her... seemed to notice as well.
